As part of the many healthcare reforms our state and nation are undertaking, a new insurance company is being formed in Oregon that is member-driven non-profit health plan. Called the Oregon Health Co-Op, it is consumer owned and operated and governed by its own membership - real people like you and me!
Since the summer of 2012, the Oregon Health Co-Op has been asking Oregonians what they would like to see in their ideal insurance plan. One of the resounding answers they heard was that patients want access to their naturopathic physician.
In response to member demand, the Oregon Health Co-Op has initiated a policy that will make it the FIRST AND ONLY private insurance company in Oregon to fully contract and credential naturopathic doctors as PRIMARY CARE PROVIDERS with all the commensurate rights, responsibilities and reimbursement as other PCPs.
If you are an ND who works as a PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER, this is an amazing opportunity. But there are also a lot of requirements, expectations, and background information that you will need to understand. Some of your clinics may also need additional support to get ready to pursue this great opportunity.
If you would like to receive an invitation to contract with the Oregon Health Co-Op, it is recommended that you or a staff person attend this webinar. You will be given further instructions during the webinar on next steps.
