Sprague Israel Giles Provides Decades of Customer Service
Founded in 1958, Seattle-based Sprague Israel Giles (SIG) has always been known as an innovative and progressive insurance brokerage firm.
A decade ago, SIG realized that Naturopathic Physicians were practicing therapeutic modalities that were not covered by existing insurance policies. So SIG partnered with naturopathic physicians and an experienced, highly-rated malpractice insurance company to develop a comprehensive policy that understands and respects naturopathic medicine as a unique profession with unique insurance needs.
David Gollersrud, National Program Manager of SIG’s Medical Malpractice and Professional Liability program, explains SIG’s philosophy – “We provide expert advice to help ND clients understand their risks and to be properly insured with the lowest premiums possible. And if there’s a claim, we represent the client, not the insurance company.”
For many decades, SIG’s business growth came solely by way of referrals from satisfied clients. Their primary goal is to keep customers by meeting their needs and creating value for them. In this way, SIG has grown to be a successful, well-respected company handling nearly $100 million in premiums each year.
But it’s not all business for Sprague Israel Giles. The firm is well known in the Pacific Northwest for their proud history of community involvement. The firm’s principals and many employees have served on nonprofit boards and regularly volunteer their time to nonprofit agencies, many of which are SIG clients.
SIG is also known for their advocacy, especially as it concerns access to health care. Washington state legislators have heard SIG employees testify many times in support of bills that would improve coverage, lower costs, or make health care more accessible.
But SIG’s primary focus is always to serve clients, and this is reflected by the regular feedback from satisfied Naturopathic Physicians. “I am very impressed with SIG’s follow through, expertise and professionalism. I am excited to get on board with your company for my malpractice needs. I have already referred another ND friend to contact you for coverage.”
