The 2018 legislative session saw the passage of HB 4143 that is aimed at tackling the opioid crisis and improved the availability of substance abuse treatment. One of the sections in the bill cleans up last session's bill to require practitioners register for access to the PDMP. The bill is effective upon passage and requires all prescribers who can prescribe opioids to register for PDMP access.
All prescribers who are currently licensed to prescribe opioids in Oregon are required to sign up with the PDMP by July 1, 2018.
