Nutrition and the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease
Daniel Chong, ND

Tuesday, June 25, 2019 | 6-8:30 PM
FREE to members | $40 for non-members
2 General CEUs

Description
In medicine, an epidemic will continue until its true cause is discovered and properly addressed. Killing 1 in 3 people worldwide, cardiovascular disease is perhaps the most lethal epidemic this world has ever seen. Elevated lipoproteins have been an accepted primary causative factor in this disease for years, and we are armed with drugs and other therapies that effectively lower most of them extremely well. Yet this disease rages on, continuing to leave death and disability in its wake. Why is that? Discover a new understanding of the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease, why it happens, and how tools from the world of nutrition can lead to its eradication once and for all.

This lecture will present an evolving view of the pathogenesis of cardiovascular disease, as well as tools from the world of nutrition which function to address the causative factors and thus can help lead to its eradication once and for all. It will also review some of the shortcomings of the conventional theory of cardiovascular disease, which keep it from being able to fully explain this phenomenon. The audience will leave with a more cause-based perspective on this condition, as well as practical tools they can apply in clinic, which take this viewpoint into account.
