McMonagle: I own Lake Oswego Health Center, PC and am a full-time practicing ND. I am also a regular speaker training physicians about medical ozone and a best-selling author.
How is OANP valuable to you and/or your profession?
McMonagle: As a board member, I am able to stay up to date regarding our lobbying efforts and the health care field in general. I feel great supporting the OANP as they support ND’s.
Do you have a favorite patient experience?
McMonagle: Yes. Many. My current favorite is the 100 year old male that has been making major strides in his health.
Why do you practice naturopathic medicine?
McMonagle: It is inspiring to see what people are capable of when given information that is attainable and that works. I get to pay my bills by helping other people. That feels amazing. My profession motivates me to always try to be better.
Who is the most influential person to you on your naturopathic journey?
McMonagle: My second cousin founded the first orphanage in Haiti a very long time ago. She was a nun who spent her lifetime helping others. She was amazing.
What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?
McMonagle: I am proud to be able to employ several Oregonians and having a thriving, successful practice.
Do you have any words of wisdom for recent ND graduates?
McMonagle: Do a residency. Learn how to run an office efficiently. Remember you are amazing and will help many people.
What is your definition of “happiness”?
McMonagle: Being outside and surrounding myself with positive people.
