A Round of Applause Please!
Laura Farr | OANP Executive Director

Every year at our annual conference, we not only say goodbye to the last year and ring in the new. We also give our thanks to outgoing board members, and welcome those new ones who are stepping into leadership shoes.

OANP is fortunate to have an extremely stable board, with a healthy balance of directors who have served multiple terms who provide us with history and depth of knowledge of the association, combined with a few new members joining the board each term who provide fresh energy, new ideas, and will hopefully become the next generation of seasoned leaders.

It is with great – and I do mean profound – appreciation that we say thank you for the many thoughts, ideas, perspectives and countless hours of volunteer work to Drs. Martin Milner (Director At-Large) and Wendy Vannoy (CE Chair). For both, this was their second “tour of duty” on the OANP board, with each of them serving OANP for a total of 6-8 years.

And we’re extremely grateful to our two new incoming board members, Dr. Padeen Quinn (Director At-Large) and Ashlee Hull (Student Rep). Dr. Quinn practices at Quest Center for Integrative Health, a non-profit community- based health center. She practices primary care but has a special interest in treating mental health, autoimmune, endocrine and gastrointestinal conditions. She is a graduate of the University of Montana and the National College of Naturopathic Medicine (now NUNM). She has served as adjunct faculty at NUNM as well as East-West College of the Healing Arts, and was honored to be listed in the Portland Monthly’s Top Docs issue.

Ashlee is a native Oregonian and current student at NUNM, expected to graduate this summer. She has been OANP’s student liaison to the Naturopathic Medical Student Association for the last year, where she worked closely with us in involving students in advocacy activities like AANP’s national lobby day, connecting students with practicing physicians, and arranging quarterly Community Hour talks by OANP board directors at NUNM.

Please raise a toast, say a blessing, give thanks or even a pat on the back if you should see these leaders in person. They make OANP thrive!
