One of the things I have always loved about working with the OANP is the opportunity to work with the Board of Directors, which has always been comprised of some of the most involved, dynamic, committed, and motivated people in the profession. The search for the new Executive Director, who will bring OANP to the next level, is a perfect example of their thoughtfulness and care for the organization.
The search for a new ED has been a very careful and well planned out process. The Board appointed a Search Committee which set priority skills needed for the position, cast a nationwide search, and reviewed almost 40 applicants from around the country for the position. They narrowed that pool of talent down to 8 and conducted phone screening interviews.
We are now at a point of inviting the top 3-4 candidates in for a final round of interviews with the full board and staff. The Board looks forward to announcing the new Executive Director in early October, and I will continue to work with the OANP to train the new Director and ensure a smooth transition until they are ready to take the helm sometime around the end of October.
Until then, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Even though I’ve started my responsibilities with the AANP, I’ll remain on board with OANP until everyone is settled into the new leadership! As always, thank you for your support of OANP through membership. We’re working hard to make sure the association doesn’t skip a beat through this transition.
