Purpose: The purpose of the Executive Committee is to facilitate decision-making between regular board meetings or in urgent/crisis circumstances. They have special responsibilities and authorities above all other committees and oversee
activities, strategic planning, and decision making within the association. They work closely with the Executive Director, acting in an advisory capacity, and serve as a liaison between the Executive Director and the full board. Positions
for the Executive Committee are appointed only.

Purpose: The purpose of the Board Nomination Committee is to provide quality leadership for the Oregon Association of Naturopathic Physicians in the form of a governing Board of Directors. This will be done through the regular and systematic
evaluation of the board’s strengths and weaknesses, the identification of potential board members, and the ongoing training and education of board members.

Purpose: The House of Delgates (HoD) is the principle policy-making body of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP). There are two types of House Committees: Standing (Position Paper Review, Agenda Development, Bylaw
Review, and House Rules Review) and Ad Hoc Committees.
Purpose: The purpose of the Legislative & Advocacy Committee is to coordinate the legislative goals of the Association, promote legislation that advances naturopathic medicine and the profession, and prepare and give testimony to
public bodies as needed.

Purpose: The purpose of the OANP Governance Committee is to ensure the salience of the organization and compliance of the Board and its Committees with its governing documents, policies, and procedures.

Purpose: The purpose of the Membership & Professional Development Committee is to serve the Association by developing membership in all categories, represent the interests of OANP members, identify and deliver potential new members,
advise on membership materials, recommend dues pricing, establish membership and dues policies, and provide opportunities to advance the profession.

Purpose: The purpose of the Education Committee are to work alongside the Executive Director and staff to ensure that continuing education programming is consistent with OANP’s mission and strategic goals alongside aligning with the
educational opportunities that present a need by the OANP membership. They are responsible for researching, contacting, and contracting with speakers for OANP’s continuing education events/conferences.

Purpose:The purpose of the Diversity, Equity Inclusion & Belonging Committee is to cultivate an attitude of respect and dignity in the association and membership, promote naturopathic physicians and medical students of all cultures
and backgrounds, recognize and reward diversity successes and achievements, educate the membership on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging issues, identify areas in the association, membership, or profession that are not in line with
these values and take steps to rectify or improve these issues.
To bring in perspective of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging to how committees and boards engage with each other and its membership associates and OANP sponsored events.
To have empathy for and perspective from other cultures. Be curious and ask questions regarding the impact of naturopathic medicine now in underrepresented communities, and what it could become.

Purpose: The purpose of the Public Relations and Marketing Committee is to carry out the strategic plan goals set by the board 1) Build a unified community and stay true to our identity as naturopathic physicians and 2) Increase the positive
reputation and raise the profile of naturopathic medicine in the State of Oregon.
